Right, I’m making it my mission to find out who’s behind the Paris-based label, Vetements. Apparently a collective of designers who have to be anonymous due to commitments at other brands (they’ve all served at Maison Martin Margiela while some have also worked at Balenciaga and Céline), it’s a label that dismisses the concept of ‘fashion’ and theme-y collections for timeless wardrobe pieces that are anything but basic. Twitter is abuzz with the rumours of H&M’s (allegedly) latest collab with Maison Martin Margiela. While I’m loving the idea of cheap-chic versions of Margiela trench coats, Tabi boots and L’Incognito sunnies, these days it’s not just about the product. There’s also the ad campaign, video and surrounding promotional activity to get excited about. So who do we think might be commissioned to work on those and what to expect? I’d love to see an accompanying Sophie Calle video or ad campaign (behind the lens, but why not in front of it as well) or perhaps Kirsten Owen as the face of the campaign. What about you?
