Beauty buy: Olympia le Tan for Lancome

Oh I do love a logical brand tie-up. For Valentine’s Day, Lancome has worked with Olympia le Tan to create 100 felt appliquéd ‘book clutch’ minaudiers, stuffed full of Lancome product. Le Tan chose six Lancome Rouge In Love lipsticks and Vernis In Love nail polishes – in pinks and reds obvs – to package inside the handmade clutch bags.
They go on sale exclusively at Harvey Nichols (in store, £995) from Monday.
If you’re a fan of Le Tan’s work, check out her Tumblr, which often shows the vintage books she uses as inspiration…
Lancome’s beauty Christmas crackers are back
It’s not just me who’s a sucker for miniature beauty products. Last year’s beauty Christmas crackers from Jo Malone, Lancome et al sold out in record time so this year the brands have repeated the exercise. Although I notice that Lancome’s prices have crept up. Is it related to the Euro-crisis? This year’s Lancome crackers are retailing for £50 at Selfridges (compared to £38 last year) but I have a feeling this won’t affect sales. For your £50 you get six miniature Lancome hero prdoucts: Hypnôse Mascara 2ml, Bi-Facil 30ml, Mini Juicy Tube – Fraise 17, Visionnaire 7ml, Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate 7ml, Mini L’Absolu Rouge ßx Lipstick 06. Such a genius marketing idea. Will you be buying?

LANCOME HYPNOSE DRAMA MASCARA AND BI-FACIL EYE MAKE-UP REMOVER
I have to say, Glossybox is coming up with the goods month after month. As I wrote in a post for Glamour a while ago, the main pull for me is the practicality of all these miniature products. My March Glossybox was a Harrods special containing goodies from Shu Uemura, SKII, Molton Brown, Clarins, a Valentino fragrance sample and a miniature Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara. I admit I’m not fussy about mascaras but I do love this mini Lancome one with its wavy brush. On a separate note, I’ve also just started using Lancome Bi-facil eye makeup remover. Continue reading
Buy it now: Kiehl’s crackers

Right, I’m officially obsessed with beauty-themed Christmas crackers. There has been a bit of a stampede for the Lancome advent calendar (I told you to be quick) but the Lancome Christmas crackers are still in stock. But look here, what about these adorable Kiehl’s lip balm crackers? Each £19 cracker contains three Kiehl’s #1 lip balms in original, coconut and vanilla flavours. Best crack on if you want one.

Remember the super duper beauty advent calendar from Selfridges that the blogersphere went mad about at ‘Christmas in July’? Well it’s on sale now. Containing a ‘best of’ mix of miniature products including a YSL Rouge Pur Couture Mini lipstick, a 30ml Kiehl’s Crème De Corps and a 2ml Lancome Hypnôse Classic Mascara (and we all know Lancome’s mascaras are the best), these won’t stick around for long.

I also think these Lancome beauty crackers are a genius idea and perfect for a girly Christmas lunch. Six crackers contain Génifique 7ml, Visionnaire 7ml, Bi–Facil 30ml, L’Absolu Rouge Mini, Juicy Tube 7ml, Hypnôse Mascara Mini, a festive hat and a beauty tip – not bad for £38. (No word if Chanel will ever do something similar but one lives in hope.)
