Craig Green Menswear Spring Summer 2016 in London

I’m sitting out LC:M this season but I enjoyed watching the Craig Green SS16 show via Caroline Issa’s Periscope – it felt a bit like I was sitting on her lap!

Like many ‘menswear’ designers, Green showed female models on his runway and certainly lots of the pieces looked interchangeable. One Periscope commenter called it ‘martial arts chic’, and there was a sense of that in the wrapped jackets and judo pants. (more…)

1. H&M’S BIG BEAUTY PUSH

H&M beauty launch via The DRG Style Index

There’s something interesting kicking off in the high street beauty space. I think it’s similar to what happened with jeans and shoes a while ago, when the UK chain stores invested heavily in fashion-forward designs, outdoing the specialists at their own game. Topshop’s make-up is five years old this month and the product quality, design and branding are as good as many of the more premium brands. & Other Stories shook things up with its experiential retail approach, while Urban Outfitters is also jumping into the beauty space in a bigger way, stocking Tonymoly from Korea among others. Next: H&M is launching a 700 piece beauty line in September. Yes, H&M has dabbled in beauty before but not in any serious way. (more…)



THE LFW want list: Margaret Howell and Paul Smith AW15



1 Margaret-Howell-aw15-London-Fashion-weekThis season’s London Fashion Week was big on straight-to-consumer ‘buy it now’ thinking. But typically, when you really need to buy it now, there’s no such tech to be seen. Ahhh I know, first world blogger probs, eh?
