Must-see movie: Everybody Street

Must-see film alert: Everybody Street is a documentary about the important players of New York street photography. Featuring Eliott Erwitt, Bruce Davidson, Martha Cooper, Jamel Shabazz and a number of others, this sounds like a can’t-miss history, fashion and photography lesson all rolled into one.

According to WWD, it will first be shown on Nov. 11, 12, 16 and 17 at Brooklyn’s Nitehawk Cinema, but the documentary will also be sold on Vimeo in time for its debut. Watch the trailer here

The Everybody Street Tumblr features work by the photographers in the film, of which my favourite are the hip-hop era portraits by Jamel Shabazz and Martha Cooper (below). Plus I love Bruce Davidson’s heroic shot of NYC’s 1980s Guardian Angels…
