Models with attitude part 2: Bip Ling for Forever 21
So the new blogger-spokesmodel I mentioned last week? Bip Ling is the face of Forever 21, as it celebrates the opening of its third UK store. The three-floor London store opens at 360 Oxford Street on 27th July adding LA-style high street wares to the leggings and leotards of neighbouring H&M, Dorothy Perkins and French Connection stores.
As I mentioned before, the appeal of a blogger-model (Fashion Toast’s Rumi Neely has modelled for Forever 21 in the past) is they bring their personality, creativity and social networking savvy to the party. Multi-tasking Ling will not only be modelling for Forever 21 but also designing the windows. And probably Djing at the party, doing some vox pop interviews and covering the whole shebang on her blog.

Of course Bip actually started out as a model/DJ/promoter/good-time-girl and the blogging came later… So she’s not so much a blogger turned IT girl as she is IT girl who happens to have a blog. xx

Ha ha Duck, I was waiting for that comment! Well… I was aware of Bip the blogger before I was aware of Bip the socialite. It’s hardly your average blog but I like it precisely for its bizarreness and think it’s as valid a blog as someone like Bryanboy’s. She has a style, a point of view and a ‘handwriting all her own. So good luck to her!

I can never get enough of Bip! Handwriting of her own indeed- she’s practically invented a new language of ‘Wowzers’ and ‘oh my dayz’. Just wish she had comments switched on on her blog! I am excited now!

mother ‘o jesus, i just went to her blog (first time) and my head hurts. i feel like i’ve just been in a noisy OCD-ADD-OMG-WTF tunnel of torment. I’m sorry, I hate her now. I wish her nothing but failure. Stupidity of this order, even with that leggy, pretty holly golightly charm, should not be rewarded. The End.

Awww, I can’t help but feel envious of bloggers who get the chance to be a model. It makes me feel sick that I’ll never have the willpower to be as thin and beautiful as them (my body is fat and it’s staying that way), but of course I’m happy for them too because these opportunities are amazing! Prefer the model Natalie from Natalieoffduty though…

Well before the blog I kept hearing her name mentioned in certain hipster circles. And then the endless stream of invites to clubnights on FB with BIP LING (always in caps). Of course, good luck to her – I just get annoyed when people talk about her as if she became famous because of her blog. It is irrelevant that all the GIFs and animal faces on site give me a migraine :-)
