Are Levi’s wedgie jeans the new skinnies?
According to The Business Of Fashion, 2016 may be the year “the stretchy skinny jean finally dies.” I’m inclined to agree. I stopped wearing skinnies around 5 years ago, lured by Gap’s ‘Sexy Boyfriend’, Levi’s Made and Crafted and then Levi’s revived 501s.
Levi’s is planning to do it again this coming year with its cheekily named Levi’s ‘Wedgie’, a meticulously cut slim jean with hardly any stretch (it’s 99% cotton and 1% elastane) that’s designed to hug your bum without overly clinging. The effect? Something akin to those street style shots of hot Paris babes in vintage Levi’s and stilettos. The other good thing about these is that they’re cropped, with a raw, sawn-off finish, so no need for turn-ups.
Just add your Gianvito Rossis, your slim-fit Oxford shirt, your Hermes Medor watch, and go…
