Last minute Christmas online shopping

As the Christmas online shopping cut-off date approaches, here are a few gifty bits that have caught my eye. Indulgent candles are always a fail-safe for fashiony friends (Racked explains their enduring appeal here) – who wouldn’t love to received a Fornasetti or a Cire Trudon? And classic make-up treats also go down well, especially if they’re hero items from an ‘It’ brand such as Chanel, NARS or Charlotte Tilbury.

Bella Freud’s knits are a great gift idea, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love them and the current collection is the best yet. But if they’re beyond your budget, then she has done a cute gift set of four candles (cue Two Ronnies lols) that are eminently desirable. (BTW, at Very Exclusive, you can spread the cost over three months.)

Books and stationery are my other favourite go-tos. Kikki.K is a recent discovery and especially good for that friend who fills her Instagram with motivational mantras. But for the luxist in your life, it really should be Smythson (although Hermes has now upped its paper goods offer – Hermes aerogrammes, anyone?). Book-wise, I love coffee table books at this time of year (my sister has bought me this) and for those, Anthropologie is your best bet. Or for something fun, how about Iain R Webb’s Vogue Colouring Book?

On my personal want list are these Rupert Sanderson boots (AKA the most elegant ‘hiking’ boots I’ve ever seen), anything from Miu Miu, the Sisley Black Rose Precious Face Oil, and and a Westwood cardi. On a side note, for a spot of self-gifting, the sales have started already at Matchesfashion.com, Very Exclusive and Net-a-Porter. Just sayin’…
