Keira beats Audrey?

ATONEMENT DRESS VOTED BEST FILM COSTUME OF ALL TIME
The bias-cut emerald green dress sported by Keira Knightley in hit 2007 film Atonement, has been voted the best film costume of all time in a survey run by Sky Movies and InStyle magazine.
Worn by Knightley’s character, Cecilia Tallis, in the period drama written by Ian McEwan, the backless silk gown beats Marilyn Monroe’s infamous white dress from The Seven Year Itch, which took second place, and Audrey Hepburn’s little black Givenchy dress from Breakfast At Tiffany’s, which was third.
Also included in the top 10 are Olivia Newton-John’s skintight trousers in Grease, Kate Winslet’s blue gown in Titanic, Diane Keaton’s tie and waistcoat in Annie Hall, Nicole Kidman’s corset in Moulin Rouge, Liza Minnelli’s stockings and bowler hat in Cabaret, Cate Blanchett’s regal gown in Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Vivien Leigh’s billowing dress in Gone with the Wind.

Okay…if they say so. More than Marilyn! More than Audrey! Yes, it’s Keira’s green silk dress from Atonement!
Pushing the Keira agenda again, are they?
(Some of the top 10 are odd choices, making the cinema seem to suffer a scarcity of iconic costumes.)

It’s InStyle. Hardly the best arbiter of what’s cool. And there’s no way the green dress beats Audrey’s on the grounds of either design or association (though Keira is excellent in Atonement). I agree with Suzanna- some of the Top 10 picks don’t really seem to belong there.

What a coincidence! I actually just did a post on iconic dresses!
Audrey deserved to be top of this list though or even Marilyn. Keira’s dress is stunning and is certainly on it’s way to being iconic but it’s not as fabulous as the other two.

It always seems like the most recent contributions top these lists whether they’re about music, movies or clothes. Give it another five years and that dress probably won’t even be on the list.

What an outrage! It is a nice dress, the colours gorgeous. But the BEST FILM COSTUME OF ALL TIME? That’s going way too far.
i suppose it doesn’t help that i have a severe disliking of Keira Knightley though.
