Germany may not have a high street heritage the way we do in the UK but it makes up for it with its online offer. Leading the way is Zalando, the multi-brand etailer which has recently branched out into its own-name line, Zalando Collection.
Today sees the launch of Kaviar Gauche For Zalando Collection, a capsule collection consisting of twenty versatile pieces designed by German duo Johanna Kühl and Alexandra Fischer-Roehler. In a palette of muted neutrals with pops of peachy nude and clear red, there’s a focus on elegant shapes, luxe textures and strong accessories with a utility-chic twist. Known for their signatures dresses, the duo has included an edit of day-to-night LBDs, plus a showstopper of a sweeping sheer-over-opaque gown to team with classic evening heels or punky boots as the mood dictates. (As Zalando showed at its blogger event in Berlin a few weeks ago, its collections adapt themselves easily to the styling whims of the wearer.) Having seen the collection up close, I can vouch for the leather bomber – a snugly-cut blouson to throw over gowns and cocktail dresses or tailored shorts and a white pleat blouse.
Prices are part of the appeal, with belts from £24 and a wool coat the most expensive piece at £250. Check out some of the look book images below, then watch the behind-the-scenes video for a closer look. You can shop Kaviar Gauche for Zalando Collection here…
