THE DRG STYLE INDEX: 24 Sèvres, Gosha Rubchinskiy, Cobra, Craig Green

Here’s the latest weekly DRG STYLE INDEX ranking, a round-up of the brands and industry stories currently buzzing on my radar…

1. LVMH ECOMMERCE HAS LAUNCHED
Maison Rabih Kairouz 24 Sevres
24 Sèvres is aiming to deliver the ultimate luxury ecommerce experience. The just-launched site from Le Bon Marché (owned by LVMH) will stock over 150 luxury brands including Louis Vuitton & Dior, plus special collaborations and exclusives. So far I’m liking this collab between Maison Rabih Kayrouz and artist Lamia Ziadé, one of only ten coats made. To mark 24 Sèvres apart even more from its competitors, it’s flagging up its customer service. “E-commerce today is about a great customer service, about being really respectful of the customers’ time. It’s about paying with your time and service in terms of concierge,” LVMH’s chief digital officer Ian Rogers told Yahoo Style. Another focus is on visual merchandising. Which means Instagram-type imagery, not just pages of product. The only hitch is that certain pieces are showing on the page but aren’t available. Sold out already? It’s a nice problem to have I suppose.

2. GOSHA RUBCHINSKIY X BURBERRY

Gosha Rubchinskiy Burberry collaboration By Dazed
If anything can make Burberry ‘cool’ again, it’s gotta be Gosha. For SS18 Gosha Robchinskiy has collaborated with Burberry on an 8-piece collection of casualwear which he presented as part of his show in Saint Petersburg. It took me straight back to this shoot I styled in the 90s…

3. NEW NAME TO KNOW: COBRA

Cobra shirts
A new menswear name on my radar: Cobra. I found this one via Vanessa Friedman’s weekly NYT problem page email (sign up here) which recommended it to a reader ruing the demise of Hedi-Slimane-for-Saint-Laurent menswear. Cobra is a low-key men’s shirting line and I especially like that they’ve deliberately eschewed social media and all the noisy sheninigans that go with it. The line consists of button-down dress shirts and western shirts in luxury fabrics with a relaxed fit (think Nick Cave meets Jim Jarmusch). It launches for AW17 and you can see more here and here (sub req).

4. CRAIG GREEN’S MOVIE DEBUT

Craig Green Alien Covenant
“It was a very surreal moment. It was like Oh my God, we had that in the studio! Oh my God, we sewed that!” This is such a good read from GQ on Craig Green and how his clothes were used in the new Alien movie

IN OTHER NEWS…

CristaSeya has an e-shop! But only for a week. It’s open until 19th June. Check it out here

I loved listening to this Terry de Gunzberg podcast by Lily Pebbles and Anna Gardner. It reminded me how much I love By Terry products and I enjoyed listening to her talking about her art collection and love of jewellery. She let slip that she has an exciting store concept opening in Paris in August.

I’m obsessed with KonMari at the moment and this NYT article on couples living with varying degrees of tidiness (sub req) made me laugh. Our household isn’t this bad but there were a few recognisable situations…

Racked has a fascinating précis on what makes millennials respond to a new beauty brand.
