Good things come in small Chanel-shaped packages

Top of my Spring-Summer 2012 fantasy shopping list is Chanel’s ‘package’ bag complete with chain ‘string’. Utterly impractical, utterly adorable. Alas, I don’t even know if it’s going into production. But one small Chanel-shaped package I did receive was the new Jersey eau de toilette, accompanied by a labour-intensive booklet stuffed full of the type of Chanel ephemera that makes saps like me swoon.

Even better, having used this scent for a couple of weeks, I’ve finally realised what it reminds me of. I’m getting distinct whiffs of Helmut Lang’s cult eau de toilette (now discontinued) which shares the same notes of vanilla and musk, although this also has a very gentle hint of lavender. It’s clean, subtle and completely addictive – if you’re a Helmut Lang fan I urge you to try it.
