Don’t touch the hair

Could the silk headscarf, the trademark of our very own Queen really be a serious contender for hot new headwear trend? It was used liberally in the A/W D&G show and I spotted two Fendi silk scarves at the Urban Outfitters press day (yes – Fendi at Urban Outfitters, who knew!). All it needs is for Mary-Kate Olsen to give it a spin – well she did with the Prada turban and this rather dubious puffy Marc Jacobs headband, go on MK, I dare you!

Liebe Marlene had these fantastic color shots from the 40s of normal people at beaches and the head scarfs were just too cool. Makes me wish I could pull one off in that style.

I like the silk scarf look … it beats the puffy headband!!!

Ohh the character ‘Blair Waldorf’ from Gossip Girl was wearing a scarf in such a way in the most recent episode.

    I see a trend emerging(?)

i saw a woman wearing an hermes silk scarf this way during the winter – she looked terrific. she was probably 80. i don’t quite have the right wardrobe for this look, but i do love it.

I’m not really sold on headscarves worn that way, though they can look rather chic – I still prefer a ginormous hood (rather dramatic, those)
