There’s a lot of buzz around Russian designer-artist Gosha Rubchinkiy right now and the ICA has tapped into the curiosity by inviting him to discuss his multi-faceted approach to fashion at its Culture Now talks event on August 29th 31st. I would give you the details, except the tickets have already sold out. Soz. [UPDATE: The curator, Angela Hill has left a comment to point out that the talk is actually on the 29th and there are now a few more tickets available.]

I’m all about blanket dressing for AW14. Any self-respecting Brit has a stack of thick check blankets for hibernating under or arranging just-so on beds and sofas. So why not just go the next step and dress yourself in one?

Burberry Prorsum’s seasonal masterstroke was swathing all its models in a blanket poncho for the show finale, complete with monogram. And then gifting its favourite influencers with the same. (more…)

Diana Vreeland: the fragrance

Why shouldn’t there be a Diana Vreeland fragrance? It makes absolute sense to me that she who understood the importance of engaging all the senses should be remembered with a line of utterly sophisticated scents. The range is the brainchild of Alexander Vreeland, the same grandson who recently released the book Diana Vreeland Memos  – apparently the bigger aim is to create a luxury brand to celebrate the legacy of the former Vogue editrix.
