Burberry got royally slated for its AW11 collection but personally I rather liked its beatniky 60s slant. And I like the SS12 pre-collection even more. I’m glad Christopher Bailey has moved on from the severely abbreviated dresses of the past few collections. The longer length Princess Margaret dresses are a refreshing change yet, youthfully styled here with the bold prints, wacky hats and chunky beads. (I would add flat boots or loafers with ankle socks.) I love how the girls are rocking the meanest stares ever and from the boys I would totally steal the shrunken knits, Hawaiian shirts and dark citrus colour palette.

I LOVED Burberry’s AW11 collection, it was gorgeous! And the pre collection is also delightful, I love the colour palette!
Ooh I think I’m too old to rock a Princess Margaret dress but I do like that boy’s Arran jumper – I’d wear it with the girl’s trousers (third photo down)
One of the best pre-co collections, every time…
I love the pattern on those shirts and dress… reminds me of African wax cloth. Also loving that sweater in the last pic.
At least Burberry got the shoes right this time. Their last collection had the worst booties I’ve seen.
