Today I’m wearing: British Beauty Blogger for Marks & Spencer

This week is all about sharing the love for my fellow bloggers. I mentioned a while ago that Jane Cunningham from British Beauty Blogger has teamed up with M&S to launch a make-up range. It finally landed on counter last week.

What I like about it is that (as with her blog) it works really hard at pleasing everywoman. The price point is extremely affordable but the quality (from the products I’ve tried) is great, and the packaging has been elevated with fashion illustrations by Nuno Da Costa. My absolute favourite product is the Lip Colour Trio; three twist-up chubby pencils in classic shades. I have been wearing ‘Heartful’ a beautiful wearable red that feels moisturising yet has staying power – not sure how they achieved that one. As with most reds, I apply this a couple of times, blotting in between so I end up with a stain. God I love it! The candy pink is lovely too, and while the nude isn’t for me, I can imagine it will please lots of people who like a nude Kardashian/90s lip.

Price points are very good – the lip trio is £15 for three excellent quality products. If I was being hyper-critical I’d say the tray inside the box feels slightly cheap, but then this isn’t pitched as luxury in any way, it just feels it because of the styling and design. The pencils themselves don’t feel cheap at all.

Another great value buy is the kohl eye pencil set. How can you go wrong with eight shades for £15? I haven’t tried mine yet as I don’t wear a lot of eye pencil but Jane has swatched them on her site and they’re certainly not low on pigment.

There’s also the Eye and Blush Palette which has a selection of flattering powder shades, most with a hint of iridescence or sparkle. I find you only need the tiniest amount which means at £14 this is unbeatable value (and you get a mirror and a brush). The dark charcoal easily lasted through a ten-hour day. Although these have been pitched so they don’t look too young or ‘mature’, I really think they would be ideal for girls just getting into make-up. And if that’s you, then British Beauty Blogger is the perfect resource as well, everything you could ever want to know about make-up, beauty and skincare (with the odd Asos fashion find thrown in for good measure).

To round out the range, there’s also a six shade Mini Nail polish Collection (£14) and a Bronzing Gift Set – complete with kabuki brush (£15). Browse the lot at Marks & Spencer here.
