If you haven’t seen the Postmodernism exhibition at the V&A yet, may I politely suggest you get a wiggle on as it ends in two weeks. I recommend that you go on a Friday evening when the V&A is open ’til 10pm. I went yesterday with Hips Like Boys at 6pm and we practically had the place to ourselves. (more…)

I like coffee table books, especially photography ones, but I like books I can read too. This is a book I bought years ago that I often re-read. It’s full of advice snippets and interesting insights from Bruce Weber about his work process along with – of course – some beautiful and effortless-looking portrait photos. Did you have a lovely Christmas? I was lucky in that I managed to have a very quiet, spoilt Christmas at home (I like to be extremely lazy on Christmas day, it’s the one day when I can just lie around eating, reading and sleeping) and received some beautiful presents. (more…)

Trend alert: couture coats


Damn you COS, I go into the store seeking Christmas pressy inspiration and come out with another coat I don’t need and a pair of socks. But how could I resist? This tailored couture-style coat has a really good cut, is nicely finished (I inspected from all angles) and has bracelet sleeves to accommodate all the Iris Apfel-esque bangles I plan to buy for the next season. This to me is a great day-to-evening coat. It’s not bulky but its cocoon shape means you can get a couple of layers underneath it if you must. (more…)
